Chris Cammack grew up on a cattle ranch in western South Dakota working on the prairie. As a young man he quickly developed a love for the outdoors. At age four, if someone would have asked him Chris would have said that he was going to be a taxidermist when he grew up. At the age of nine he won a purple ribbon in the 4-H contest at the South Dakota state fair with his first piece of taxidermy.
Chris was outdoors observing nature, hunting and fishing during most of his free time growing up. The summer of Chris` Sophomore year he started his own Lawn Irrigation Business. For the next six years during the summer he would hire on employees and they would put in sprinkler systems, and do sprinkler maintenance.
